bitchat in Kanvo: Join Location Channels From Your Inbox
bitchat is a messenger with no accounts and no servers. Its public location channels also travel over Nostr relays, and Kanvo can now join them: pick a nickname and a place, and the channel arrives in your inbox. Here is what that does and doesn't carry.
What a location channel is
A location channel is named by a geohash: a short code for an area on the map, from a whole region (two characters) down to a city block (eight). Anyone in bitchat can read and write to the channel for the place they are, or for a place they choose.

What it doesn't carry
Private bitchat messages. Those travel between people who have favourited each other, in bitchat's own format, and stay in bitchat. The Bluetooth mesh. Kanvo is not near you; it reaches channels through relays only.Pictures and reactions. Channels carry text. A reaction you add stays in Kanvo.
Things to know
Channels are public. Anyone in that place, or anyone who picks its code, can read what you write. Write accordingly.Messages are short-lived. Location channels keep no long history. When you join, recent messages arrive; older ones are gone.
