Signal, Google Messages, LinkedIn and X in Kanvo: Personal Accounts, Honestly Explained
Some apps have no business route at all, so the only way in is your own account. Kanvo connects personal Signal, Google Messages, LinkedIn and X through open-source bridges. Here is how that works, what it costs, and why we tell you before you connect.
How it works
Kanvo runs the open-source mautrix bridges, unmodified, on a server Kanvo operates. A bridge signs in as you, the way a second device or a desktop app would, and speaks each network's own protocol. Your chats and groups arrive in Kanvo, with the last few messages of each, and your replies go out as you.
What it costs, before you connect
Every Kanvo app shows these on the connect screen, before the first step, and asks you to acknowledge them:
Why tell you at all
Other unified inboxes connect personal accounts the same way, and some say less about it. We think a person deciding where their messages go should hear the cost from us, not discover it. It is also why business accounts use each platform's official route wherever one exists.
What you get
Texts beside everything else. SMS from Google Messages sits next to WhatsApp, Slack and Kanvo's own conversations.LinkedIn leads in the inbox you check. Recruiters and introductions stop waiting in a tab you never open. One person, one contact, and an agent that drafts the reply. The agent across apps.
